Time is flying by and technology is going at an even faster pace than time, or at least it seems like it. We were just getting used to having smartphones on us at all times and in the meantime that was happening, technology took off to having implanted chips in human beings and everything intelligently communicating with everything else.
From robots to drones and self-driving vehicles, the smartphone seems to old to discuss now. How much have you been able to keep up with the technological advances of today? Scrap that. Let’s go ahead and talk about what technology you should be watching out for in 2019!
Tech Getting Smarter
Voice assistants of 2018 are boring and dull compared to what we’re expecting to happen in the coming year. The Internet of Things (IoT) paired with high level artificial intelligence is going to make everything smarter and more capable of performing tasks autonomously.
It is no surprise that we have moved beyond just saying ‘Hey Siri’ to giving full, human like commands to devices which are being created to serve us. It is like the world is preparing to build an army of robots to do everything for us while we enjoy our time in the sun while sipping on a drink.
Don’t be surprised if you see robots mowing your neighbour’s lawns or performing regular maintenance on your driverless vehicle. Times are rapidly changing.
Data Above Everything
We already know that data is now worth more than even oil. It is no surprise that companies spend a good amount of effort gathering customer data. The trend isn’t going to be slowing down anytime soon. Data is going to be even bigger in 2019 as augmented analytics come into the workplace and every other field of our life.
Decisions are expected to be based solely on what the data is saying, instead of traditionally relying on the human thought process. This means that data scientists and analysts will be in high demand, just in case you were looking for a career change.
Greater Automation
Humans still control a good part of the business operations. This is the time that this may even change. Especially in those areas of work where repetition is the key to getting the job done. Not even that, technology may even slowly become completely self-reliant and have the ability to think out creative solutions for performing a job.
Just make sure you have prepared by advancing your skill sets and staying one step ahead of the robot powered era.
Digitally Integrated Public Areas
Technology only isn’t advancing in the work place for us humans. It has already taken over our personal lives and any free time we have to take a walk in the part. Everything from bike stands to showers at the beach are becoming digitized to be more efficient and effective at what they have been made for.
